Our client is looking for a Senior Ab Initio / ETL Support Engineer at Chicago, IL (Hybrid) It's a Long Term Contract opportunity Job Title: Senior Ab Initio / ETL Support Engineer Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid 3 days onsite 2 days remote per week) Duration: Long Term Contract Job Description: β€’ Candidate should have more than 10 years of experience in Python, AbiInitio, Snowflake and Control-M skillsets. β€’ An support engineer having strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation, data warehousing concepts. β€’ A strong Control-M skillset includes workflow definition, scheduling, and management in the Planning domain, alongside monitoring and troubleshooting. β€’ A comprehensive Python skillset encompasses a range of abilities, from foundational programming concepts to specialized applications. β€’ Ab Initio Developer skills include technical expertise in the Ab Initio ETL toolset, SQL, and Unix/Linux environments, alongside strong data warehousing and data modeling knowledge Key Responsibilities: Environment Management: β€’ Executing AbiInitio graph and monitoring Performance Monitoring: β€’ Monitoring ETL job performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing workflows to ensure efficient data processing. Job Scheduling and Automation: β€’ Scheduling and automating ETL jobs using tools like Control Center or Autosys, and potentially developing automation scripts using languages like Python or Shell. Troubleshooting and Support: β€’ Resolving issues related to ETL jobs, Ab Initio components, and data processing workflows. Collaboration and Communication: β€’ Working with developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to implement changes, upgrades, and resolve issues. Documentation: β€’ Creating and maintaining technical documentation related to Ab Initio solutions and configurations. Skills and Qualifications: Ab Initio Expertise: β€’ Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Ab Initio products (Cooperating System, EME, Control Center, etc.). ETL and Data Warehousing: β€’ Understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and experience with data profiling, cleansing, and transformation. Database Knowledge: β€’ Familiarity with databases (Oracle, Teradata, etc.) and SQL. Scripting and Automation: β€’ Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, etc.) for automation tasks. Communication and Collaboration: β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Problem-Solving: β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Cloud Computing (Optional): β€’ Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes."
