Senior AI/ML Engineer (USC Only)

Very high preference for those living in Atlanta, GA or Austin, TX areas as occasional office visits may be required. Optomi is partnering with major retail client for this role that involves developing and deploying machine learning models and intelligent agents to analyze data and generate actionable recommendations. The candidate will lead proof-of-concept (POC) efforts to modernize existing software, design decision tree logic, and integrate it with a data lake. A key focus is ensuring models are production-ready and scalable across the enterprise. The position requires working in an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools such as Gemini and Vertex AI Studio to build and deploy ML solutions. DAY-TO-DAY: • Build out ML models and agents to scan data and provide recommendations • Work on proof of concept for re-writing software • Develop decision tree logic and integrate it into a data lake • Ensure ML models are enterprise-ready and capable of running in production • Collaborate with stakeholders and manage processes in an agile environment • Lead POC efforts, tune results, and roll out solutions • Work within GCP using tools like Gemini and Vertex Studio MUST HAVES: • AI/ML experience: 4-5 years of experience in Machine Learning • 10+ years of total engineering experience • Knowledge in PubSub, SpringBoot, BigQuery • GCP • Experience in testing frameworks • Experience building microservices • Enterprise experience NICE-TO-HAVE: • Agentic AI experience • Supply chain background • Kubernetes knowledge • Experience interfacing and working in full-stack environments • Experience with building algorithms TEAM/CULTURE: • Distribution, Fulfillment and LM team • Small, cross-functional team with several managers • Team values independent thinking and problem-solving • Must be comfortable with both technical work and interfacing with stakeholders • Behavioral traits are important: must be able to break down ambiguity and own initiatives • Self-starter mentality needed
