About The Job
The contractor will provide accounts receivable collections support to ensure timely customer payments and optimized cash flow. The contractor will manage escalated collection efforts, analyze trends, and coordinate with Mission Cloud personnel as needed. You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely collection of customer payments to optimize cash flow and minimize overdue balances. You will provide escalated collections efforts, analyze trends to support process improvements, and partner with internal teams to resolve payment discrepancies. This engagement requires advanced analytical skills, exceptional customer communication, and a proactive approach to managing accounts receivable health.
This engagement is 100% remote. This is a contract role will last between 7-12 months.
Responsibilities
β’ Deliver the full lifecycle of collections activities, including managing the AR inbox, responding to internal and external communications (Slack, Asana, phone, etc.), and proactively leading outreach efforts with customers to resolve overdue balances
β’ Independently resolve escalated payment issues and negotiate tailored solutions with customers, minimizing business risk while maintaining positive relationships
β’ Coordinate as needed with Mission Cloudβs Billing, Sales, Legal, and other teams to support resolution of discrepancies.
β’ Review and interpret customer contracts and agreements to ensure accurate invoice setup and collections readiness, enabling seamless onboarding and minimizing future disputes.
β’ Lead smooth customer offboarding coordination to ensure all outstanding balances are collected while maintaining compliance and a strong customer experience
β’ Manage external customer portal configurations and updates to streamline collections processes and payment visibility
β’ Provide liaison services with third-party collections agencies, managing escalations and providing strategic oversight for high-risk accounts in order to drive resolution
β’ Design, maintain, and present executive-level dashboards and weekly collections reports to leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and solutions that support decision-making
β’ Perform deep analysis of AR performance, aged receivables, and deliver actionable recommendations to reduce DSO and improve AR turnover
β’ Develop and present recommendations and insights to leadership, including monthly analyses of past-due accounts, reserve for bad debt, and other metrics (e.g., DSO)
β’ Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger and subledger data across multiple tools, ensuring integrity and audit readiness
β’ Maintain comprehensive collection records, customer database changes, and accurate reporting
β’ Proactively identify and implement process improvements to improve AR efficiency, accuracy, optimize collections, and reduce aging
β’ Develop and refine collections policies, procedures, and workflow improvements

β’ Contractor must maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information, possess an attention to detail,and handle sensitive financial information
β’ High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (complex functions such as VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot tables, CONCATENATE, LEFT/RIGHT/MID, Text to Columns, etc.)
β’ Advanced Google Suite skills (build filters in email, use and organize Google Drive docs, create and manage Google sheets, maintain calendars, etc.)
β’ Knowledge of AR processes, collections best practices, and payment terms
