β’ Overview:We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in Amazon RDS and overall AWS infrastructure. This is a hands-on role supporting mission-critical systems, performance optimization, and data reliability for cloud-based environments.
Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize Amazon RDS databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
Monitor performance, analyze slow queries, and implement tuning strategies
Ensure data integrity and uptime through high availability, backups, replication, and disaster recovery
Enforce database security policies and best practices
Collaborate with engineering teams on schema design, migrations, and scalability efforts
Automate database operations using Infrastructure as Code and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Bash, Python)
Provide on-call support for critical production issues as part of a rotation
Requirements:
4+ years of experience as a DBA, with at least 3 years working with AWS and RDS
Strong understanding of AWS services related to databases, monitoring, and networking
Experience with database automation, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or Terraform)
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Database β Specialty, Solutions Architect)
Experience with Aurora, DynamoDB, or Redshift
Familiarity with cloud cost optimization practices
