Senior Business Intelligence Consultant

Job Role – Sr BI Consultant Contract Term – 3 months Location – Anywhere in US ( Preferred Dallas) Job Summary We're looking for a skilled BI Consultant who specializes in Power BI to transform complex data into actionable business insights. The consultant will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of report development, from initial assessment and data validation to creating visually compelling dashboards. The ideal candidate has a sharp analytical mind, a keen eye for UX/UI design, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver high-impact reporting solutions. Key Responsibilities • Report Development & Assessment: Design, develop, and deploy insightful and interactive Power BI reports and dashboards. Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing report development processes to identify areas for improvement. • Data Analysis & Validation: Analyze various data sources and validate data availability and integrity within the Amazon Redshift environment to ensure reporting accuracy. • Technical Documentation: Create detailed Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents to outline data lineage and transformation logic for BI solutions. • Business Prioritization: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and identify Business Critical Reports, prioritizing the development pipeline based on strategic business needs. • Backlog Management: Classify reports into Simple, Medium, and Complex categories to effectively manage and organize a prioritized development backlog. • UX/UI Design: Finalize wireframes and mockups for key report templates, ensuring an intuitive and effective user experience (UX/UI) that meets business requirements. Required Qualifications & Skills • Proven experience as a BI Developer or BI Consultant with a strong portfolio of Power BI projects. • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, especially within a Redshift or similar columnar database environment. • Demonstrated experience in creating STTM documents and other technical specifications. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. • Experience working directly with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
