Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Position Title: Power BI Specialist – Senior Location: Washington, DC 20024 Duration: 12 months assignment Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day Project Overview: The Power BI Specialist – Senior will support enterprise financial reporting initiatives by rebuilding and enhancing key Power BI dashboards. The primary focus will be the CFO Dashboard (MVP rebuild) and the development of the Procurement Dashboard. This role will work closely with finance teams, business analysts, and analytics engineers to deliver high-quality, interactive dashboards that provide accurate and actionable insights for strategic decision-making. Job Functions & Responsibilities: • Rebuild the CFO Dashboard in Power BI using validated datamarts and views. • Gather reporting requirements from Finance offices for future dashboard phases. • Develop interactive and user-friendly Power BI visuals aligned with standardized Finance templates. • Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to ensure dashboards are connected to accurate and optimized datasets. • Support the phased buildout of the Procurement Dashboard, starting with MVP and expanding to full launch. • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and data visualizations to support finance, operations, and executive leadership. • Work with business analysts and data engineers to translate reporting requirements into technical dashboard specifications. • Optimize data models and DAX queries to ensure dashboards perform efficiently and scale effectively. • Ensure dashboards meet governance, security, and data accuracy standards. • Lead dashboard design best practices and support the development of an enterprise-wide BI reporting framework. Required Skills: • Strong experience with Power BI dashboard development and data visualization. • Experience working with data models, DAX, and performance optimization. • Ability to translate business reporting needs into technical BI solutions. • Experience collaborating with business analysts, finance teams, and data engineers. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to BI best practices. Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Power BI development.
