Role description
Senior Data Analyst Short-term contract through EOY 2025 (potential to extend) $63/hr - $73/hr Hybrid - Bellevue (3x per week) Fortune 500 Telecommunications Client This role will be responsible for owning and delivering critical data integration, quality, and reporting projects that directly support our advanced analytics initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Data Sourcing & Integration: • Identify, validate, and secure new and existing data sources across the organization. • Work with application owners to secure necessary access to diverse data repositories. • Integrate data from various non-SQL systems into robust SQL databases. • Determine and maintain high standards for data accuracy, usefulness, and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. Data Engineering & Automation: • Create and implement processes to ensure data veracity and velocity for analytics consumption. • Design and build automated data processes for efficiency and reliability. • Define technical requirements for tool integration (e.g., PowerBI, Streamlit). Reporting & Business Intelligence: • Develop Automated PowerBI Dashboards for comprehensive reporting and analysis. • Implement row-level security (RLS) using Active Directory control within PowerBI models. • Validate data and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) parities against legacy outputs, capturing and resolving any discrepancies. • Performance tune BI models by optimizing model size, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and reducing query load. Documentation & Handover: • Provide comprehensive documentation, including a data dictionary, DAX/measure catalog, refresh schedules, RLS procedures, and a runbook. • Conduct thorough knowledge transfer sessions for the internal team to ensure sustainable support and utilization of all deliverables. What You'll Bring: • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in data integration, data warehousing, BI development, or a related field. • Deep expertise in SQL database integration and management. • Proven experience in designing and building automated reporting solutions using platforms like PowerBI. • Strong understanding and practical experience with PowerBI performance tuning (DAX optimization, query reduction). • Demonstrated ability to identify and secure access to complex, disparate data sources. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for working closely with data scientists, analysts, and application owners. • Commitment to maintaining high-quality data standards and integrity.
