Role description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for a contract role, 6 months to start. This position is in the Greater Bay Area - expected potential hybrid in Oakland and/or San Ramon once per week (can choose).
Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Data Analyst to support our client's Vegetation Management organization. This role will serve as a key analytical partner, responsible for transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
The Analyst will lead the development of advanced reporting solutions in Power BI, conduct deep-dive analyses using Excel and other tools, and deliver executive-level presentations that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities across the business.
Duties/Day to Day:
β’ Lead the analysis of large, complex datasets to uncover trends, forecast outcomes, and identify areas for operational improvement
β’ Design, build, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI to support strategic initiatives and performance tracking
β’ Perform advanced Excel modeling, including scenario analysis, forecasting, and data transformation
β’ Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into analytical frameworks and reporting solutions
β’ Develop executive-level presentations using Excel and PowerPoint to communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership
REQUIREMENTS:
β’ Experience in a data analyst or business intelligence role, preferably in a utility or operations-focused environment
β’ Exceptional communication and presentation skills; Experience with the task of distilling complex data into clear, actionable insights, and creating PPTs to outline these insights and trends
β’ Proven experience working with large datasets and relational databases
β’ Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is preferred
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling
β’ Deep expertise in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and visualization best practices
β’ Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business needs
β’ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-impact work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
β’ Strong analytical mindset
β’ Ability to communicate data-driven narratives to senior leadership
β’ SQL proficiency is a strong plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
