Senior Data Analyst / QA Lead

Weβre seeking a hands-on Senior Data Analyst / QA Lead to join our data team. This is a deeply technical role focused on backend data validation, testing, and system QAβnot development. Youβll help drive quality across data flows, mentor teammates, and serve as the go-to liaison between business and IT teams. This is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced reporting environment, enjoys leading without formal authority, and isnβt afraid to roll up their sleeves.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead technical QA efforts, including backend data testing and validation
β’ Analyze business/technical specs and translate them into test plans and validation strategies
β’ Validate ETL jobs and ensure data integrity across systems
β’ Create test scenarios, identify edge cases, and debug data inconsistencies
β’ Mentor junior team members and organize workstreams within the team
β’ Communicate effectively across business, data, and IT stakeholders
β’ Support ad hoc reporting and data troubleshooting for end users
Must-Have Skills
β’ Expert-level SQL β comfortable with complex joins, debugging, and schema analysis
β’ Strong QA and testing background in data warehouse environments
β’ Experience reading and interpreting DBT SQL code (a plus)
β’ Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS (especially S3), Informatica, and DB2
β’ Understanding of data modeling concepts and backend systems
β’ Experience using Jira for tracking QA tasks and issues
β’ Clear, confident communicator with leadership instincts
β’ Based in New Jersey
Nice to Have
β’ Experience in Snowflake or DB2 migrations
β’ Familiarity with API integrations and third-party data vendor testing
β’ Exposure to P&C insurance data or reporting environments
