Job Overview
A leading financial institution is seeking a highly skilled Data Sourcing Analyst specializing in Regulatory Reporting to support financial data analytics and compliance functions. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate sourcing, profiling, and mapping of regulatory reporting data, collaborating with finance and technology teams to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Identify and source required data elements across enterprise data warehouses for regulatory reports such as Basel, Y-9C, 2052a, Call Reports, etc.
β’ Conduct data profiling to assess quality, identify gaps, and ensure consistency in financial datasets.
β’ Develop Source-to-Target (S2T) mapping documents, tracking data hops, transformation logic, and lineage to regulatory reporting needs.
β’ Utilize SQL and Google BigQuery to query, validate, and analyze financial data across multiple platforms.
β’ Collaborate with finance product owners, data stewards, and governance teams to finalize source tables and mappings for regulatory reporting.
β’ Define defaulting logic for missing or inconsistent data attributes, ensuring completeness in reporting.
β’ Assist in designing automated data controls to enhance validation, completeness, and accuracy in reporting functions.
β’ Document sourcing logic, business rules, and data assumptions in clear, actionable formats for key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
β’ 6+ years of experience in data sourcing, financial analytics, or regulatory reporting, preferably in large financial institutions.
β’ Strong expertise in US regulatory reporting (Basel, Y-9C, 2052a, Call Reports).
β’ Advanced SQL skills, with proficiency in Google BigQuery or similar cloud-based data analytics tools.
β’ Solid understanding of data governance principles and controls validation.
β’ Proven ability to work cross-functionally with finance, technology, and governance teams to optimize data sourcing strategies.
β’ Exceptional documentation and communication skills, with experience leading stakeholder discussions and approvals.
