Senior Data Analyst (Product & Engineering)
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
Type: Contract (8 months, potential extension)
Rate: $70–85/hour
We’re working with a growing software development company that’s building modern, data-driven products used across a wide range of customers. They’re looking to bring on a Senior Data Analyst to partner closely with product and engineering, owning analytics initiatives that directly influence product strategy and performance.
This role is ideal for someone who operates with a high level of autonomy, is comfortable working in a technical environment, and can bridge the gap between data, product, and engineering.
What you’ll be doing:
• Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries to analyze large-scale datasets across cloud data platforms
• Designing and owning scalable dashboards, reporting layers, and self-serve analytics solutions
• Partnering with product and engineering teams to define KPIs, instrument tracking, and evaluate feature performance
• Leading A/B testing and experimentation analysis, providing clear recommendations to stakeholders
• Working with structured and semi-structured data to support advanced analytics use cases
• Contributing to ETL/ELT processes and helping improve data pipeline performance and reliability
• Performing deep-dive analyses and translating findings into actionable business and product insights
What they’re looking for:
• 5+ years of experience in a data analyst or product analytics role
• Advanced SQL expertise (CTEs, window functions, performance tuning)
• Strong experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)
• Proven experience building dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• Experience with Python or R for analysis and data manipulation
• Solid understanding of data modeling and working with large, complex datasets
• Experience partnering directly with product and engineering teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, or modern data stack tools
• Background in a product-led or SaaS environment
Why this role:
• High-impact role with ownership over key analytics initiatives
• Tight collaboration with product and engineering leadership
• Fully remote, flexible environment
• Strong likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs
