Senior Data & Analytics Engineer London – Hybrid 6 month contract Inside ir35 Purpose of Job This role will undertake various Data and Analytics tasks for the UK Private Markets team. The focus will be on driving Technology Roadmap implementation, while delivering key reporting and data requests on side in order to help maintain and further grow current and future investments. The resource will work closely with a Data and Analytics member, driving the roadmap for Private Markets team. The work would also involve cross collaboration with other Technology and Data teams depending on tasks allocated. Background The role will support plans to significantly expand its asset management activities outside of Japan over the next ten years. It will be responsible for driving Data and Analytics tasks for Private Markets team behind investment vehicles. This expansion will primarily focus on the launch of a range of alternative funds, leveraging the expertise of the wider Group, as well as covering across the full range of existing investment products. Accountabilities & Responsibilities The scope of work for the requested resource is described in the responsibilities section below. It focuses on driving forward Technology Roadmap and new software adoption, while delivering data and analytics requests with the software, currently owned. Data and Analytics Delivery: • Assistance and management of XLS based reporting and data requests (including any advanced Excel formula, VBA and power query development) for quarterly and more frequent reporting, as per the needs and requests from Private Markets team and investors • Timely feeds of any manual overrides/ data changes to be added to the main data sources • Selective development and use of Access databases as temporary database solution to help utilize portfolio investment track record data on side. • Help to create data quality issue reporting process, addressing existing issues. Technology Roadmap Delivery: • Support Tokyo based head office in due diligence, adoption and implementation of proposed technology toolset, produce onboarding guidelines to any technology toolset newly implemented. • Support development and configuration of vendor tools - DealCloud and Untap. This includes but is not limited to creation of new variables and associated forms, checks, delivery and development of quarterly reporting, automated via vendor tools. • Help to create timely and optimised data share process between entities. Manage and test data flows including the documentation of findings and recommendations, creation of data templates for data retrieval between entities and new variable proposals for existing data sources. • If technology and time allows, the below tasks may also come in scope: o Help to create and utilize regular reporting in PowerBI, o Help to create portfolio investment track record database in adopted IT software, such as Databricks, Teradata or Oracle. Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Essential: • Degree in quantitative field, such as Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science or similar. • VP level of work experience in technical analytical roles. • Technical self-starter with strong analytical mindset and ability to drive projects. • Comfortable dealing with the unknowns and creating/testing new technology and data processes. • Strong data manipulation, data preparation, data modelling and data visualisation skills. • Advanced Excel skills (inc. VBA and power queries). • Intermediate or higher: Access and PowerBI skills. • Knowledge of relational databases, and associated tools, e.g. Teradata, Oracle, Databricks and Datalake. Desirable: • Knowledge of Leveraged Finance, Private Credit, or Asset Management. • Curiosity of all things data, Data Science and AI, and desire to keep learning. • DealCloud and Untap knowledge.
