Senior Data Architect - Data Platform Modernisation (Retail/CPG) £475/day | Outside IR35 | 3 days per week onsite (London) | SC Clearance highly desirable We're seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the Discovery phase of a major data platform modernisation programme, shaping the target connected data platform, interim states, and a pragmatic multi-cloud migration roadmap.Responsibilities • Lead Discovery workshops, planning, and delivery of core artefacts • Develop a clear "As-Is" view of current platforms, operating models, and data products • Define target architecture and operating model, including governance and ways of working • Present architecture principles, roadmaps, and blueprints to senior stakeholders and boards • Shape interim states and transition strategies, including coexistence and consolidation • Produce architecture blueprints, decision logs, and phased migration roadmap • Engage senior stakeholders (CDO, CIO, Enterprise Architecture) and lead steering forumsRequirements • 10+ years in Data & Analytics, with experience as Lead Data / AI Architect • Proven delivery of large-scale data platform strategies and roadmaps • Experience across multi-cloud/multi-platform environments (Azure Databricks, GCP Databricks, Snowflake, AWS) • Strong understanding of lakehouse, warehouse, and data mesh/federated models • Hands-on with at least one major platform, but platform-agnostic • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Retail/CPG experience, with knowledge of commercial, supply chain, or marketing data products • SC Clearance highly desirableWhy This Role? • Lead a target-state data platform vision and roadmap • High visibility with C-suite stakeholders • Enterprise-scale transformation across multiple platforms and domains Reasonable Adjustments: Respect and equality are core values to us.
