Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Location: Austin, TX (Onsite/Hybrid) Job Type: W2 Contract Experience Required: 10+ Years Contact: Job Summary: V2 Innovations Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer for a long-term W2 contract role based in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in modern data engineering practices, ETL/ELT development, cloud technologies, and big data processing. This is a hybrid/onsite role, and local or nearby candidates are preferred. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. • Work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data to support analytics and reporting use cases. • Develop and optimize SQL queries and data workflows for performance and accuracy. • Build data solutions using Python and/or Scala, and integrate with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, or Informatica. • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and build robust solutions. • Leverage big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, and Kafka for real-time and batch data processing. • Work with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform to manage data infrastructure: • AWS: Glue, Redshift, S3 • Google Cloud Platform: BigQuery, Dataflow • Azure: Data Factory, Synapse • Implement data models, schema designs, and enforce data governance and quality standards. • Participate in code versioning, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployment environments. Required Skills & Qualifications: • 10+ years of experience in data engineering or software development with a strong focus on large-scale data solutions. • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and/or Scala for data transformation and pipeline development. • Proficient in ETL/ELT development and using tools such as Airflow, Informatica, or Talend. • Strong knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka). • Deep experience in cloud data platforms AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure. • Proven experience in data modeling, schema design, and implementing data governance frameworks. • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments is a plus. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control systems. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
