Data Engineer
Massachusetts (Remote-First)
6-month Contract-to-Hire
Are you passionate about building modern data platforms that power real business insights?
Our client is a well-established, fast-growing company undergoing a full digital transformation, and weβre looking for a Data Engineer to help shape how data drives decisions from the ground up.
In this role, youβll be part of a brand-new initiative to reimagine how data is collected, organized, and used across the business. Youβll work closely with both business and technical teams to build a cloud-first data infrastructure using the latest tools (Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Data Factory, and more).
This is a chance to make your mark. It's not patching legacy systems, it's building smart, scalable solutions that will power analytics, reporting, and automation across every function of the business.
Responsibilities
β’ Design and build cloud-based data pipelines (streaming, batch, and real-time)
β’ Develop and support a scalable data platform using Microsoft Fabric and OneLake
β’ Connect data from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, internal systems) to deliver meaningful business insights
β’ Optimize pipeline performance and automate routine data workflows
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that work
β’ Help shape data standards, documentation, and governance practices
Requirements
β’ 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
β’ Strong skills in SQL, Azure, and data integration tools like Azure Data Factory
β’ Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and the broader Power Platform (Power BI, Automate, Dataverse)
β’ Experience working with APIs and large, complex datasets
β’ Exposure to ERP and CRM systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Salesforce) is a plus
β’ Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and modern data warehousing concepts
Why This Role?
You'll be joining a stable, privately owned business that thinks like a startup when it comes to innovation. Youβll have the freedom to build, explore new tools, and drive real impact in a company thatβs serious about becoming data-driven.
Candidates from the New England area will be considered for this role. Only very occasional travel to Massachusetts is required.
W2 contract-to-hire.
