Key Responsibilities
This individual will be an enthusiastic Data Engineer to support the delivery of a data transformation. Working as part of a new team, you will work on establishing a robust and scalable data platform for the business. You will play a key role in driving the ambition to create a best-in-class data engineering function.
β’ Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing large datasets.
β’ Develop and optimize database systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
β’ Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide support for analytics.
β’ Implement data integration and transformation processes (ETL) from various sources to ensure high-quality, accessible data.
Role Requirements
β’ Strong working knowledge of Azure Cloud Platforms, or transferable skills from other cloud platforms
β’ Experience using SQL for database management essential
β’ Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala)
β’ Experience with data pipeline frameworks and ETL tools and familiarity with big data technologies
β’ Understanding of version control principles and tools essential
β’ Knowledge of data integration tools and languages (e.g., APIs, JSON, XML, Web Services) desirable
β’ The ability to resolve complex and non-routine issues and identify improvements in the testing and validation of data accuracy
β’ Enthusiasm to develop your skills, take responsibility and work within an ambitious and rapidly developing data teams.
This is a contract role for 4-6 months which will extend with new projects, if initial implementation successful.
