Senior Data Engineer BigQuery & MicroStrategy (GCP) Role Contract Duration Initially 6 months Rate Circa £500-£600 per day Location 100% remote Inside IR35 A global organisation is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong Google Cloud Platform experience to support the build and optimisation of a modern data platform. This role will focus on BigQuery based data pipelines and enabling analytics through MicroStrategy, working within a scalable GCP environment. You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising data pipelines and data models, ensuring that analytics teams can efficiently consume high-quality, reliable data. Key Responsibilities • Design, build and maintain scalable ETL / ELT data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) • Develop and optimise data workflows using BigQuery as the core data warehouse • Support MicroStrategy reporting and analytics environments connected to BigQuery • Implement reliable data ingestion frameworks for structured and semi-structured datasets • Work closely with data modelling, analytics, and BI teams to enable reporting use cases • Automate data workflows, orchestration, and deployment processes Key Requirements • Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) • Hands-on expertise with BigQuery for data warehousing and performance optimisation • Must have Experience integrating or supporting MicroStrategy analytics environments • Strong experience building ETL / ELT pipelines in modern data platforms • Experience with workflow orchestration and pipeline automation tools • Strong understanding of modern data architectures (data warehouse / Lakehouse)
