Job Title: Senior Data Engineer β AWS/Snowflake
Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN (Hybrid β 2β3 days onsite weekly)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support enterprise-scale data ingestion and analytics initiatives within a modern cloud data ecosystem. This role will focus on designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines using AWS, Snowflake, Python, and related cloud-native technologies.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on engineering expertise, experience working with large-scale data environments, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders. This position requires strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based data ingestion pipelines using AWS and Snowflake.
β’ Build and optimize Python-based ELT workflows and automation solutions, including AWS Lambda functions.
β’ Develop and maintain data models using Snowflake capabilities such as tasks, streams, stored procedures, dynamic tables, and dbt.
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data flows, and deliver reliable, consumable datasets for analytics and reporting.
β’ Support orchestration and scheduling of data workflows using tools such as Airflow and AWS Glue.
β’ Implement and maintain monitoring and observability solutions for data pipelines and job performance.
β’ Contribute to code quality, CI/CD practices, documentation standards, and version control processes using Git.
β’ Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices across the data engineering organization.
β’ Work effectively with minimal direction and take ownership of complex technical initiatives.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another STEM-related field.
β’ 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related technical roles.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Python and advanced SQL development.
β’ Experience building cloud-native data pipelines using AWS and Snowflake.
β’ Experience with ELT/ETL processes, orchestration tools, and large-scale data integration.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with dbt, Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, and AWS Lambda.
β’ Experience with CI/CD workflows and version control tools such as Git.
β’ Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, Monte Carlo, or AWS CloudWatch.
β’ Understanding of modern cloud data architecture concepts, including Lakehouse architectures.
β’ Prior experience working with financial services, lending, or loan-related data environments.
