Job Overview:
Bankβs Institutional Securities Technology team is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support the development of next-generation Data Quality (DQ) and Client Confidentiality platforms. These platforms are used across various divisions and play a critical role in managing and analyzing large volumes of financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python development, database technologies, and data engineering in high-performance environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Python.
Support onboarding of internal users to the Data Quality platform.
Work with a range of databases (DB2, Greenplum, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, KDB, SingleStore).
Implement and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.
Handle data in multiple formats (CSV, JSON) and perform advanced analytics using Pandas/NumPy.
Integrate with message queues (Kafka) and job scheduling tools (Autosys).
Collaborate with DevOps and other teams using Git, Jira, and Artifactory.
Write comprehensive unit tests (pytest) and maintain code quality.
Troubleshoot data issues and assist in anomaly detection across systems.
Required Skills:
Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming
Advanced SQL and database design experience
Hands-on experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, DB2, and PostgreSQL
Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, and data wrangling techniques
Kafka integration experience
Unix shell scripting and file handling
Experience using Git, Jira, and Autosys
Unit testing using tools like pytest
Ability to analyze, debug, and ensure data quality at scale
Excellent communication and self-management in fast-paced environments
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
Experience working with Data Quality infrastructure
Knowledge of anomaly detection algorithms (isolation forest, clustering, time series analysis)
Familiarity with model monitoring, debugging, and logging systems
Exposure to containerized environments and deployment of ML services
