Role description
Role: Senior Data Engineer Location: Philadelphia, PA Schedule: Hybrid Rate: $80/hour W2 Weβre seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to design, build, and deliver scalable Big Data Warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, collaborates well with product owners and technical stakeholders, performs under pressure, and consistently delivers high-quality results. This role offers the opportunity to influence fellow technologists and partner across the enterprise. Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable Big Data Warehouse solutions across the full data supply chain.
Create and implement solutions for metadata management.
Develop and maintain technical and user-focused documentation (data models, dictionaries, glossaries, process flows, data flows, architecture diagrams, etc.).
Extend and enhance the enterprise Data Lake.
Solve complex data integration challenges across multiple systems.
Design and execute strategies for real-time data analysis and decisioning.
Collaborate with business partners, analysts, developers, architects, and engineers to support data quality initiatives.
Partner closely with the Data Science team to enhance actionable data.
Stay open and eager to learn new skills and technologies.
Required Experience & Skills
Experience in data management, data access, Big Data, traditional Data Marts, and Data Warehousing.
Strong SQL skills, including Spark SQL and DataFrames.
Understanding of modern data warehousing concepts using Redshift, Spark, Hadoop, web services, etc.
Experience with data architecture and data assembly.
Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Security principles.
Hands-on experience with data integration tools (Talend preferred; Cascading).
Proficiency with data manipulation scripting languages.
Familiarity with Business Intelligence, MDM, XML, SOA/WebServices.
Exposure to Data Science toolsets and technologies.
Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Data Processing, or equivalent.
Experience in Data Warehousing or similar analytical data environments.
Experience with Java programming and framework development.
Experience with Hadoop and Spark.
Experience with Amazon EMR/EC2 (or equivalent).
2+ years of experience with Python.
Experience with Bitbucket and a strong understanding of Git concepts.
Familiarity with Linux.
Familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD practices.
Solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals.
Experience with AWS technologies including Aurora, Athena, EMR, Redshift, S3.
Experience with Postgres and MySQL.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Strong communication skills.
