We seek a Data Engineer with deep expertise in building and maintaining robust data pipelines, optimizing complex data architectures, and integrating cloud and on-premises data solutions. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience working with legacy data systems, custom file structures, and Oracle on-premise databases, alongside modern cloud-based tools like AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks. Youβll play a key role in helping the business migrate and modernize its end-to-end data platform, transforming outdated infrastructure into a scalable, cloud-first architecture that supports AI, analytics, and strategic business insights. Key Responsibilities
Lead the migration of legacy data systems and custom file formats into modern data platforms, especially Oracle on-prem databases.
Implement, manage, and maintain data platforms such as Oracle, Snowflake, and/or Databricks, ensuring high availability and performance while optimizing for cost.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support diverse analytics and machine learning needs.
Work with large volumes of structured and unstructured legacy data, converting them into usable formats and integrating into enterprise platforms.
Optimize and manage data architectures for reliability, scalability, and performance.
Implement and support data integration and ETL/ELT solutions, ensuring seamless data flow across on-prem and cloud platforms.
Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Product Teams to define and support data requirements.
Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure performance and uptime.
Support ML model training and deployment with high-quality, curated datasets.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
Work with third-party data vendors and platform providers to implement scalable solutions.
Required Skills
Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience with Oracle on-premise databases, including large-scale data migrations from legacy file formats.
Strong experience working with large amounts of legacy data and custom structured file types.
Hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Databricks, or both.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for building, managing, and querying data pipelines.
Familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks and data integration tools.
Solid experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, etc.
Understanding of containerization and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Docker, Git, Jenkins).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage large, complex datasets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
