About the Role
We are hiring a senior-level Data Engineer to support the development and maintenance of an AWS-based Medicaid Data Warehouse. The ideal candidate will design and manage ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage, transform and load data into DB2 Warehouse, and ensure high data quality to support business intelligence tools such as Cognos.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage to process Medicaid-related data
• Develop batch and incremental data jobs to populate DB2 Warehouse in alignment with analytics and reporting needs
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures in DB2
• Collaborate with business analysts, report developers, and data stewards to translate requirements into data models
• Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Leverage AWS services such as S3, Glue, and Lambda for data orchestration and scalability
• Document ETL flows, schemas, and technical specifications
• Monitor data job performance and troubleshoot issues to meet operational SLAs
• Deploy and maintain data jobs across DEV, TEST, and PROD environments
• Ensure data handling practices comply with HIPAA and Medicaid regulations
Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, or Data Warehousing
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage in a production environment
• Proficiency in DB2 Warehouse including complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and schema design
• Hands-on experience with AWS services relevant to data engineering, including S3, Glue, and Lambda
• Experience with data profiling, validation, and cleansing
• Experience supporting BI/reporting tools such as Cognos or similar
• Understanding of HIPAA or other regulatory compliance related to healthcare or Medicaid data
Required Skills
• Experience working with Medicaid datasets or Medicaid-specific data warehouses
• AWS certifications such as Data Analytics – Specialty or Solutions Architect Associate
• Experience with shell scripting or Python for orchestration
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira or Confluence
• IBM DataStage certifications
