Senior Data Engineer | Microsoft Fabric & Azure Analytics (6-Month Remote Contract)
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 6-month remote contract engagement to design and deliver modern, scalable data solutions across our cloud analytics platform. This role leverages technologies within Microsoft Fabric and the broader Microsoft Azure ecosystem to support enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and IT partners to build robust data pipelines, optimize data models, and deliver impactful insights through tools such as Power BI.
This is a fully remote contract position with an initial term of six months, with potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
Primary Job Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation processes.
β’ Build and manage Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
β’ Develop semantic models and support reporting and dashboard development.
β’ Optimize SQL queries, Spark workloads, and data models for performance.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
β’ Implement data governance, quality controls, and security best practices.
β’ Support CI/CD and DevOps processes within cloud environments.
β’ Document data architecture, standards, and processes.
Skills and Qualifications
β’ 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI development.
β’ Strong SQL skills and experience with Python, Spark, or PySpark.
β’ Experience working with Azure-based data platforms.
β’ Hands-on experience or exposure to Microsoft Fabric workloads.
β’ Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
