Senior Data Engineer (Contract) 📍 Location: Northampton, UK (Hybrid: 2–3 Days Onsite) 📅 Duration: 3 Months 🏦 Industry: Banking About the Role We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in the banking domain to join our team on a short-term contract. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and stakeholder management skills to support data initiatives across key banking functions. Key Responsibilities • Develop robust and efficient data solutions using Python and SQL • Perform complex data analysis to support critical banking functions • Work across financial crime domains (e.g. KYC, AML), CRM, payments, transfers, and card systems • Collaborate with a large and diverse stakeholder group to gather and translate requirements • Participate in full SDLC, from requirement gathering to deployment, using Scrum methodologies • Document business, stakeholder, and solution requirements with clarity and accuracy Required Skills & Experience • 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles • Proficiency in Python and SQL • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets • Solid domain knowledge in banking, especially in financial crime (KYC/AML), payments, and CRM • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments • Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across technical and business teams Work Arrangement • Hybrid model: 2–3 days per week in-office (Northampton)
