Job Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer for Compliance Technology will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support the organization's financial compliance and risk management initiatives. Working closely with the compliance, risk, and data teams, you will build solutions to ingest, process, and analyze complex data from various sources to ensure accurate reporting, monitoring, and auditing capabilities.
In this role, you will leverage your strong background in big data technologies, data engineering, and compliance domain expertise to drive the development of a robust and secure data platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand compliance requirements, define data models, and engineer efficient data workflows that enable timely, reliable, and compliant data for regulatory reporting and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement resilient, high-performing data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources (e.g., core banking systems, trade platforms, external vendors) into a centralized data platform
Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and metadata to ensure data integrity, lineage, and traceability for compliance reporting
Automate data quality checks, anomaly detection, and reconciliation processes to proactively identify and address data issues
Collaborate with compliance, risk, and business teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions
Implement robust data security, access control, and governance mechanisms to protect sensitive financial data
Optimize data processing and storage for efficient, cost-effective, and highly available data services
Mentor and guide junior data engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial compliance and data engineering
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience as a data engineer, with a strong focus on building data solutions for compliance and risk management
Proficient in modern data engineering technologies and tools, such Databricks, ADF, SQL
Expertise in data modeling, data pipelines, data quality, and data governance
Strong SQL and programming skills in Python
Understanding of financial regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management concepts in the banking industry
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
