Role description
Position: Senior Data Engineer (AWS) Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid – 4 days onsite) About the Opportunity CornerStone Staffing is partnering with a leading organization to hire a Senior Data Engineer to help build and scale a modern data environment in AWS. This role is focused on designing reliable, high-performing data systems that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and business decision-making. This is a hands-on role with ownership across data pipelines, modeling, and data quality, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders. What You’ll Do • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines in AWS supporting batch and real-time processing • Develop and optimize data models to support business intelligence and analytics use cases • Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, enterprise systems, and external data feeds • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across the full data lifecycle • Implement monitoring and alerting to proactively identify and resolve data issues • Partner with business and technical teams to translate requirements into data solutions • Evaluate and improve existing data architecture, including migration and decommissioning of legacy systems • Troubleshoot data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes • Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing, and efficient data design • Maintain clear documentation and version control across data systems and processes What You Bring • 4+ years of experience building and managing data pipelines and data models in a cloud environment (AWS preferred) • Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL • Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric • Experience designing scalable data architectures for analytics and reporting • Familiarity with both batch and real-time data processing • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is a plus • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP is a plus • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders What Sets This Role Apart • Direct impact on building and shaping a cloud-based data platform • High visibility across multiple business functions • Opportunity to work with modern data tools and scalable architectures • Role offers ownership and influence over data strategy and execution
