Position : Senior Data Scientist / Analyst Location : Los Angeles (Santa Monica office) Direct Client Requirement Core Responsibilities Design, execute, and evaluate A/B experiments to inform product decisions and measure impact. Apply strong statistical methodologies, including: • Hypothesis formulation • Statistical significance testing • P value interpretation Conduct deep exploratory data analysis and root cause investigations to uncover patterns, anomalies, and drivers of user behavior. Work hands-on with large-scale engagement and subscription datasets, often requiring data cleaning and complex transformation. Partner closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate analytical findings into meaningful recommendations. Communicate insights clearly both verbally and through concise documentation to support decision-making across technical and business teams. Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to ensure data pipelines and experimentation workflows support analytical needs. Dashboarding may be performed as needed, but the primary focus remains hands-on analysis and experimentation, not BI reporting. Required Skills & Qualifications 6+ years of professional analytics experience with demonstrated ability to operate independently and deliver high-impact insights. Expert-level SQL, with ability to write efficient, complex queries to support large-scale analytical workloads. Strong proficiency in Python, including: • Data wrangling (pandas, PySpark or Spark preferred) • Exploratory data analysis • Supporting and maintaining analytical automation workflows Solid foundation in statistics, including hypothesis testing, significance analysis, experiment design, and interpretation of results. Proven ability to work with messy, large datasets in real-world production environments. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills particularly when requirements are vague. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical insights to product managers, engineers, and business leaders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks. Background in ads experimentation, subscription analytics, or engagement-based platforms. Industry experience in media & entertainment, telecom, or other subscription-driven businesses (helpful but not required). Ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment and contribute ideas that improve experimentation processes. Seniority Expectations This is a lead-level individual contributor role - no people management required. Must demonstrate readiness to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding. Expected to operate with autonomy and guide experimentation best practices across teams. Contract & Conversion Initially a 6-month contract supporting multiple overlapping leaves of absence. Extension is possible, based on performance and business needs. Conversion to full-time is possible if headcount is approved, though vendors should not overpromise. Education Requirements For the contract role: experience is the primary qualification. For potential full-time conversion: a STEM or analytics-related degree is required.
