High hourly rate!! Fully Remote! 40 hours a week, 9am-5pm EST.
We’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist on a contract basis. This role will focus on developing and deploying advanced machine learning models, with a strong emphasis on video analytics and optical character recognition (OCR). You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to extract actionable insights from complex data sources and help drive innovation in computer vision applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and optimize machine learning models for video analysis and OCR tasks
• Develop pipelines for processing and analyzing large-scale video datasets
• Apply deep learning techniques (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers) to extract features and detect patterns in visual data
• Implement OCR solutions using tools like Tesseract, EasyOCR, or custom deep learning models
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into production environments
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and present findings to stakeholders
• Stay current with the latest research and trends in computer vision and machine learning
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles
• Strong proficiency in Python and libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Hands-on experience with video analytics, including object detection, tracking, and activity recognition
• Proven expertise in OCR techniques and tools (e.g., Tesseract, EasyOCR, Google Vision API)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with edge computing or real-time video processing
• Knowledge of NLP techniques for post-OCR text analysis
• Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices
• Background in computer vision research or publications in relevant fields
