Senior Dynatrace Monitoring Engineer 📍 Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – In‑Person Interviews) ⏳ 3+ Month Contract | Potential Extension After FY Renewal 📅 Start Date: April 6, 2026, | End Date: June 30, 2026 While this is initially a short-term contract tied to the fiscal year, the role is expected to renew on July 1, 2026, pending budget approval. About the Role We are seeking a Senior Dynatrace Engineer to lead our enterprise monitoring and observability efforts. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize monitoring solutions that support mission‑critical systems across cloud, infrastructure, and applications. You will act as a senior subject matter expert and collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure optimal performance and availability. Key Responsibilities 🔹 Monitoring & Observability • Configure, enhance, and maintain Dynatrace monitoring across enterprise systems. • Build dashboards, alerts, KPIs, and health checks for proactive visibility. • Ensure end-to-end observability across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. • Fine-tune alert thresholds to reduce noise and increase actionable insights. 🔹 Infrastructure Monitoring • Monitor Windows/Linux servers, VMware environments, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Support monitoring of databases, middleware, and network components. • Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to identify trends and capacity planning needs. • Detect and resolve issues before they impact production workloads. 🔹 Application Performance Monitoring • Utilize Dynatrace to track application performance and transaction flows. • Implement and manage Synthetic Monitoring and Real User Monitoring (RUM). • Partner with application teams to ensure complete monitoring coverage. • Troubleshoot application and system performance issues using Dynatrace insights. 🔹 Incident & Problem Management • Participate in major incident response and performance troubleshooting. • Provide deep-dive monitoring insights during root cause analysis. • Identify and close gaps in existing monitoring strategies. 🔹 Continuous Improvement • Enhance monitoring standards, documentation, and best practices. • Recommend improvements to alerting strategy and observability maturity. • Support integrations with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira). Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or monitoring roles. • 5+ years hands-on experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools. • Experience migrating from Dynatrace Managed to Dynatrace SaaS (highly required). • Strong knowledge of: • Windows & Linux servers • VMware & virtualized environments • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP • Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing) • Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash). • Familiarity with Kubernetes/container monitoring. • Experience working in regulated industries (healthcare, finance). • Understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise ITSM tools. Preferred Skills • AWS Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate). • Experience setting baseline thresholds, KPIs, SLAs. • Exposure to enterprise log analysis tools. • Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills. • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
