Role description
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced software solutions that meet complex business requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, ensure system reliability, and implement best practices in software engineering. Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level software applications to meet business needs. Provide technical leadership by conducting design and coding sessions, while resolving technical challenges. Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to define system requirements and align solutions with business objectives. Implement best practices in software engineering, including coding standards, testing, and continuous improvement. Utilize cloud technologies such as AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and EC2 to build scalable and reliable solutions. Work with databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL systems like Cassandra and DynamoDB, to ensure efficient data management. Develop containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes for streamlined deployment and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, providing enhancements and recommendations to improve system performance. Ensure system security through encryption, access control, and identity management strategies. Lead efforts to document processes, maintain logs, and produce clear reports for ongoing system monitoring. Requirements Strong experience in software development using Python and other programming languages. Proficiency in cloud technologies, including AWS services like Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB. Hands-on experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL systems. Expertise in containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with system integration methods, including REST APIs and batch processes. Solid understanding of network concepts, performance optimization, and security protocols. Excellent communication and leadership skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams. Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
