Role description
Senior Event Presentation Designer
One of The Sage Groupβs is looking for a Sr Event Presentation Designer. Client is an AI research and deployment company focused on building safe, reliable, and steerable AI systems, particularly large language models.
Presentation Design & Technical Expertise:
β’ Design compelling presentations across multiple software platforms (Google Slides, Keynote, PowerPoint) for diverse event formats including main stage keynotes, booth sessions, executive meetings, and sales enablement decks
β’ Provide strategic storytelling consultation and advise on presentation flow, narrative structure, and information hierarchy to maximize audience engagement and comprehension
β’ Ensure seamless conversion between presentation software while maintaining design integrity and technical requirements for various AV setups Master technical specifications for different stage configurations, projector setups, LED walls, and livestream requirements
β’ Create presentation templates and design systems that scale across different event types and audiences
β’ Collaborate with speakers and content creators to transform complex AI concepts into visually engaging, accessible presentations with clear narrative arcs
Audience-Specific Design Strategy:
β’ Understand nuances of designing for different audiences: technical vs. business stakeholders, C-suite executives vs. practitioners, internal teams vs. external customers
β’ Adapt visual language, complexity, and messaging hierarchy based on event type and audience sophistication
β’ Design presentations that work across formats: in-person stages, virtual presentations, hybrid events, and recorded content
β’ Ensure brand consistency while tailoring visual approach to specific event contexts and speaker needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Management:
β’ Work with event producers, content leads, and speakers to gather requirements and iterate presentation design
β’ Manage multiple concurrent presentation projects with varying timelines and complexity levels
β’ Coordinate with AV vendors and technical teams to ensure presentations meet all technical specifications
β’ Establish scalable design processes and quality standards for presentation development
Event Graphics Production (Value-Add Capability):
β’ Support turnkey event graphics production including wayfinding, signage, and application of graphics to physical surfaces
β’ Coordinate with external production agencies to prepare print-ready files with proper color specifications for different surfaces and materials
β’ Make creative decisions within brand guidelines for surfaces and applications without explicit guidelines while maintaining brand visual system integrity
β’ Apply strong typography and layout expertise across both digital presentations and physical event materials
Autonomy Expectations:
β’ Own the presentation design process from concept to final delivery with minimal oversight Work independently to meet tight event deadlines while proactively communicating potential issues
β’ Collaborate effectively with speakers and stakeholders to refine content and visual approach
β’ Make strategic design decisions while escalating major creative direction changes
Experience Requirements:
β’ 5+ years of professional presentation design experience across multiple event types and audiences with demonstrated storytelling and narrative design expertise, with startups and larger tech companies for diverse stakeholders
β’ Expert-level proficiency in Google Slides, Keynote, and PowerPoint with deep understanding of software conversion and compatibility issues
β’ Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud software
β’ Extensive experience with AV technical requirements for different stage configurations, projector setups, LED walls, and livestream platforms
β’ Portfolio demonstrating presentations designed for technical products, preferably in AI/tech industry and/or in-house tech companies
β’ Experience designing for diverse audiences: C-suite executives, technical practitioners, sales teams, and general business audiences
β’ Proven ability to consult on presentation strategy, storytelling structure, and content flow
