Job Title: Senior Fabric Data Engineer Location: Miami, FL or Dallas, TX (Onsite – 4 days/week)Duration: 6+ Month ContractRate: $60/hr C2CWork Authorization: US Citizens, Green Card Holders, or Independent Visa HoldersRequirements: Must have experience with at least 2 completed Microsoft Fabric projects Key Technical Skills: Microsoft Fabric (EventStream, Notebooks) Azure SQL Database (including mirroring to Fabric) Azure Event Hubs & Event Grid Basic database administration experience Role Summary: We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Fabric Data Engineer to join our Database & Analytics team. In this strategic role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data infrastructure that powers efficient analysis and enterprise-wide decision-making. This is a hands-on senior-level opportunity for a self-driven professional with deep technical skills and Microsoft Fabric project experience. Core Responsibilities: Design and optimize data models, warehouses, schemas, indexing, and partitioning strategies. Collaborate with BI teams to understand analytical requirements and enhance data storage performance. Modernize databases and data warehouses, ensuring high availability and performance. Build and manage scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines and integration flows across multiple sources (databases, APIs, streams, etc.). Leverage Microsoft Fabric tools (EventStream, Notebooks) to manage real-time and batch processing workloads. Lead architecture and development efforts while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Work with IT leadership to define and enforce data governance, security, and compliance protocols. Document architectural decisions, data pipelines, and workflows for continuity and knowledge sharing. Support legacy systems by implementing necessary schema changes and improvements. Provide training and consulting to team members and stakeholders on database and Fabric best practices. Remain current on emerging trends and technologies in the data engineering ecosystem. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or in a similar role. Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (minimum of two completed projects). Familiarity with the mortgage or title industry is a plus. Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed for deployments or critical updates.
