Role description
Title: Senior Financial Reporting Analyst
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
• Support development of monthly financial statements and accompanying schedules for internal financial reporting packages.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis reports, identifying and explaining notable differences in account balances by coordinating with relevant team members in Accounting.
• Contribute to drafting 10-K and 10-Q reports, updating disclosures for current reporting periods and ensuring completion of financial statement disclosure checklists.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather required information for SEC-related 10-K and 10-Q submissions.
• Review and organize supporting documentation for SEC filings in tie-out binders to ensure information is easily accessible.
• Execute monthly journal entries and generate supportive schedules as well as account reconciliations when necessary.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts, ensuring that balances are accurately reflected and properly eliminated in consolidated financial reports.
• Inspect XBRL tagging for financial statements and notes in 10-K and 10-Q submissions.
• Assist independent auditors by providing necessary documentation during audits and reviews.
• Verify the accuracy of quarterly earnings publications, earnings call scripts, and investor presentations.
• Provide quality assurance checks for annual proxy statements and registration statements as needed.
• Stay updated on available accounting standards and SEC regulatory updates, evaluating their impacts and maintaining documentation for compliance.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• At least 5 year of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting.
• Exposure to SEC filings and financial reporting practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Familiarity with reporting tools such as Workiva and Planful (or comparable systems like OneStream or Hyperion).
• Hands-on experience with XBRL tagging systems.
• Advanced degree in Accounting, such as a Master’s degree.
