Role description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) for a highly motivated senior developer in the Information & Performance Department. This is an 18 month fixed term contract.
The successful candidate will be developing and supporting the Trust’s Data Warehouse and Business Information systems and ensuring the Trust’s new EPR, Oracle Health (Cerner) currently being implemented, will integrate into the Data Warehouse.
This team is a key part of the Information & Performance Department which provides a wide range of operational and performance reports to the Trust through its Business Intelligence systems. You will be mostly working from home but will have to attend the occasional on- site meetings or events.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in database management and practical experience of MS SQL server in a complex NHS organisation. A robust understanding of database concepts and programming techniques is essential. You will have excellent technical skills and knowledge backed up by previous experience of data warehousing. You will have the ability to interpret complex user requirements and translate these into deliverables. Knowledge of Insource’s Data Academy and/or experience of Oracle Health (Cerner) would be a great advantage

Responsible for development, management and maintenance of information and business intelligence database systems including the in-house Data Warehouse system. Development of systems to produce key dataset outputs. Development and enhancement of web-based reporting and managing third party databases.
Recommend improvements to streamline and enhance existing processes and systems, promoting greater efficiency and effectiveness within production and use of information.
Act as a lead specialist providing advice on system or information developments to project managers/IM&T staff, external third-party developers or Trust users. Be a source for the information team to develop advanced technical skills.
Acts as coach or mentor to junior members in the team, supports their training and development. Coaches individuals in the use of information and systems.
The post holder must have highly developed specialist knowledge of SQL Server, Data Warehousing and web-based technologies including OLAP, Microsoft BI Stack and Data Warehouse Design.
