Role description
Myticas direct client is seeking Senior Java AWS Developer/Engineer, Onsite/Hybrid at Chicago, IL. MUST be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder who is able/willing to work on W2 Contract ONLY. NOT considering candidates requiring visa sponsorship. NOTE: β€’ β€’ This position requires a 2-step background check process (ANACI) which may take 6-8 weeks for completion. β€’ β€’ Contract Duration – 1 year Top competencies required for this position: β€’ Java with Spring framework β€’ SQL skills β€’ AWS services β€’ Terraform Infrastructure as a Code Responsibilities: β€’ Work on migration of complex, monolithic Java Spring applications from on-premises environments to AWS, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. β€’ Design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3 etc. β€’ Translate existing SQL-heavy data operations in AWS-managed databases (e.g., RDS, Aurora) while optimizing performance. β€’ Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform for consistent, automated cloud provisioning. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refactor legacy components, integrate with Ops best practices, and ensure security, scalability, and operational excellence.
