• : This is a hands-on engineering role. We’re looking for a builder — someone who thrives in the code, architecting and shipping real systems. You’ll work side-by-side with our CTO to design and implement production-grade AI agent infrastructure for real-world government use. If you’re not excited to roll up your sleeves and build, this role isn’t for you.
Clearance Required: Public Trust (or higher)
Location: Remote (US only) | Full-Time | Founding Tech Team
About the Mission
We build the secure AI agent layer for government — voice, chat, and backend automation.
We’re here to fix how the government serves people — through voice agents that replace 3-hour hold times, chatbots that solve 60% of cases before they escalate, and automation that lets caseworkers breathe again.
If you’ve built AI, automation, or LLM-backed systems inside government or a regulated agency, and want to build from the ground up — this is your call.
What You’ll Build (and Own)
Secure AI chat and voice agents for federal, state, and local use cases
Custom retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines grounded in official data
Backend orchestration tools: intake parsing, triage, decisioning, case status, and RPA
Integrations with legacy systems: Salesforce, Oracle, SharePoint, COBOL endpoints
Infrastructure and delivery: cloud-native deployment, security-first by design
Internal tooling & CI/CD for fast iteration within ATO/FedRAMP constraints
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
15+ years of hands-on engineering experience (backend + AI strongly preferred)
Clearance: Active Public Trust, Secret, or eligible — we’re working directly with gov
Real experience shipping AI systems into government (not theoretical)
LLM & chatbot/agent systems deployed in production — not toy demos
Deep knowledge of backend orchestration, API security, and compliance (FedRAMP, CMMC, etc.)
Fluent in at least one core stack: Python, Node.js, TypeScript, etc.
Experience working in hybrid environments (legacy + cloud-native)
Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure GCC High, or other secure infra
Familiarity with identity, RBAC, IAM, audit logging, endpoint hardening
Ideal Candidate Profile
You have:
Delivered AI-powered voice or chat systems to real users under real constraints
Interfaced with CIOs, CISOs, or compliance officers to get tech greenlit
Worked on high-stakes automation in defense, federal, or state systems
Shipped secure-by-default, documented, scalable infrastructure
Know how to work with (and around) procurement, governance, and bureaucracy
Can build fast, but write code that passes a DHS red team audit
Bonus Experience
Conversational AI systems for SSA, IRS, HHS, DoD, DHS, or VA
RAG pipelines with LLMs + embeddings + vector DBs (Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)
Amazon Connect, Twilio Voice, or similar voice agent infrastructure
OCR, document parsing, or claims processing tools
Building AI/automation under ATO, or within gov SOC2/FISMA environments
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll be joining a proven founding team with:
Former submarine commanders, cyber leads, and AI infrastructure experts
Active and prior clearances, direct federal credibility
Deep relationships across public-sector decision-makers
You won’t be re-explaining AI to the board. You’ll be building with people who’ve seen this movie and are writing the ending.
Ready to Apply?
We only want to hear from candidates who’ve:
Built AI/automation systems that served real people at scale
Worked in (or with) government environments under constraints
Aren’t afraid of building fast, securely, and at mission-grade quality
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $100.00 - $200.00 per hour
Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Work Location: Remote
