Summary
Chamberlain Advisors is supporting a key client in identifying a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join their AI Infrastructure team. This role plays a pivotal part in the development, deployment, and scaling of ML models and pipelines to support real-time and offline analytic processing. The selected candidate will collaborate with product teams, data scientists, and AI/ML engineers to architect robust and scalable machine learning solutions across cloud-based environments. This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll also help establish best practices, mentor junior team members, and take ownership of deployment and infrastructure activities for enterprise-scale ML applications. What You’ll Be Accountable For
• Develop software to process, store, and serve data and machine learning models.
• Build scalable data pipelines and structures to support ML and analytics workloads.
• Write and optimize ETL/ELT processes and data flow schedules across on-prem and cloud platforms.
• Troubleshoot issues related to data consistency, model deployment, and infrastructure reliability.
• Ensure adherence to data quality, accessibility, and security standards.
• Partner with AI/ML scientists to support model development, deployment, and real-time inference.
• Anticipate and mitigate risks related to ML model performance, architecture, or system scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with peers, leadership, and stakeholders across matrixed environments.
• Lead efforts to improve automation and reproducibility in ML development via CI/CD and DevOps tooling.
What Qualifications You Need
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in machine learning, software engineering, or data engineering.
• Advanced programming proficiency in Python, C/C++, Java, Spark, or Scala.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and relational data structures.
• Demonstrated experience with designing and implementing scalable ML infrastructure.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills within matrixed organizations.
• Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues, present insights to senior leadership, and influence strategy.
• At least 2 years of financial accountability and leadership of technical teams or cross-functional projects.
• Willing to travel up to 10% of the time, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Graduate degree in a technical discipline.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their ML service offerings.
• Experience deploying ML models using Kubeflow, Seldon, MLFlow, or similar open-source tools.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Tekton, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), especially with Terraform.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect.
• Experience building streaming and batch pipelines using Spark or Databricks.
• Experience with API development and deploying services in Kubernetes multi-tenant environments.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across distributed systems, with a focus on performance and cost optimization.
• Experience designing monitoring and alerting frameworks for cloud-based AI/ML systems using ELK stack, Splunk, or similar tools.
