Description:
Objective:
The Oncology Forecasting Lead will be a key member of the Global Oncology Forecasting function within a strategic advisory group that supports global decision-making and planning for in-line and pipeline products.
The primary objective of this role is to contribute to the success of the global forecasting function by working with cross-functional teams to assess the commercial potential of in-line brands. This individual will lead the development and refinement of forecasting capabilities, owning and communicating short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts.
The role also involves supporting the development of strategic insights and content in collaboration with global marketing and cross-functional teams to enable effective business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop customized, global, and strategic forecasts for in-line brands based on data-driven assumptions and research
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial, market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, pricing, and market access to incorporate relevant insights into forecasts
β’ Apply advanced analytics and integrate data from multiple sources to enhance understanding of market dynamics and product performance
β’ Present and clearly communicate modeling assumptions to stakeholders, including senior leadership, and validate forecasts through scenario analysis and sensitivity testing
β’ Develop βwhat-ifβ scenarios and range-based forecasts, identifying key risks and opportunities
β’ Apply consulting-oriented approaches, including problem definition, hypothesis generation, data analysis, and translating insights into business value
β’ Support strategic planning and decision-making through development of high-quality analytical outputs and presentations
Required Skills and Experience:
β’ Expertise in pharmaceutical forecasting
β’ Strong experience with advanced spreadsheets and patient-based forecast modeling, including dynamic patient models
β’ Experience in oncology, hematology, or similar specialty therapeutic areas
β’ Experience with quantitative techniques such as regression, time series analysis, smoothing, and simulation
β’ Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools
β’ Experience supporting product launches and working in global environments
β’ Prior experience in consulting, forecasting, market research, or business analytics environments
Knowledge & Skills:
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
β’ Working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases
β’ Understanding of global access, reimbursement, and competitive landscapes and their impact on commercialization strategy
β’ Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and with external partners
β’ Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
β’ Ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
β’ Strong analytical thinking combined with a business and client-service mindset
β’ Ability to think strategically and influence key business decisions
Education:
β’ Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred
Experience:
β’ Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in forecasting, market research, or business analytics within the biopharmaceutical industry
β’ Hands-on experience with advanced modeling techniques and forecasting methodologies
β’ Experience in oncology, hematology, or similar therapeutic areas preferred
β’ Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
β’ Exposure to global markets and product lifecycle management preferred
