Senior Marketing Data Scientist
The Sage Groups’ Client, a software company that specializes in creating collaboration and work management tools for teams, is seeking a Sr. Marketing Data Scientist to join our Audience Targeting and Optimization analytics team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders daily who are both familiar and unfamiliar with our customer data to define and build audience and models for their desired product marketing messages (ex: cross-sell, feature release, etc.) and event marketing campaigns. These audiences will be built by querying our relational database.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-depth data discovery and apply technical expertise to recommend and curate the ideal customer segmentation for customer messaging (marketing & non-marketing)
• Collaborate on a variety of product and business problems with a diverse set of cross-functional partners and
• become a trusted strategic partner through the structure and clarity of your work.
• Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our business and help solve the business's biggest challenges.
• Focus on developing hypotheses through analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them.
• Define, understand, and test opportunities to improve the products and business and influence roadmaps through insights and recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to inform, influence, and execute strategy decisions
• Identify and measure the success of product efforts through forecasting and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends.
• You will use data to shape product development, quantify new opportunities, identify upcoming challenges, and ensure the products we build bring value to people, and businesses.
The ideal candidate should have experience:
• Working with stakeholders who are either familiar or unfamiliar with an organization's customer data (ex: attributes defining customers in an RDBMS)
• Conducting data discovery and curating SSOT documentation for disparate data sources (ex: new tables or columns)
• Strong data manipulation skills - advanced proficiency in SQL - SparkSQL syntax is a plus
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in analytics mining data for insights and recommendations
• 5+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL query languages (Python is a plus)
• Advanced proficiency with SQL - SparkSQL syntax is a plus
• Business Intelligence experience (Tableau, Looker, Sisense etc.)
• Experience managing technical projects end-to-end, including schema discovery and documentation, work estimation, status reporting, and stakeholder-facing documentation
• Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to actively listen, problem-solve, and communicate across technical and non-technical business teams
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous data environments

Location: Remote but needs to be in PST or MST zones
