Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Job Title: Sr. Oracle PL/SQL Developer Duration: 6+ months Location: Houston, TX (hybrid 3 days/week on-site) Required Pay Scale: $67-$71 / HR W2 • • • Due to client requirements this role is only open to USC or GC candidates • • • Project Details: • Develop Oracle PL/SQL applications. • Create/Modify Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and functions. • Create database objects like tables, views, triggers, types, synonyms based on requirements. • Create new applications or enhance existing applications to produce commissions reports. • Use Oracle Analytical functions, MERGE statements, WITH clause, Partitioning, Job logging, File handling using UTIL\_FILE, External tables, Regular Expression functions, and Exception handling in the Oracle PL/SQL code. • Optimize code by following performance tuning techniques and coding standards established within the team. • Work closely with IT Technical Lead/Business team to understand requirements, analyze source tables and relationships, create technical design, follow consistent coding/SVN standards, and provide daily status updates. • Create and test Unix scripts to transfer reports from Unix server to Windows share using sFTP server. • Perform Unit testing and end to end System testing of the Oracle PL/SQL application. Prior to UAT submission test and compare the reports to Production calc. reports and identify and fix discrepancies. • Use analytics skills to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly. • Use SVN to maintain all database object scripts/source code. Follow versioning standards established by the team. • Have code reviewed with IT lead prior to moving the code to QA environment. • Create ControlM job documents, create Change requests, and work with ControlM to get the jobs created and scheduled. • Use ServiceNow ticketing system for opening, handling, and closing tickets and change requests. • Follow SOX procedures for code maintenance and deployment. • Perform production support. • Monitor daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly batch processes and resolve job failures as soon as possible to fulfill established SLAs. • Work with ControlM group on re-run/re-start instructions. • Be willing to perform this off hours during weekdays and weekends. • Fulfill ad-hoc requests for data pull, table updates or minor enhancements. • Work effectively in a team environment. • Develop strong working relationship with fellow team members, Manager, Commissions team, DBA team, IRW team, and other IT groups. • Independently work on tasks without the need for step by step Supervision. • Communicate progress or issues clearly either verbally or through email. • Escalate issues or delays that would impact deadline as early in the process as possible. Must Haves • 12+ years of Oracle PL/SQL programming experience. • 10+ years of experience in Oracle 12c or 19c. • Must have used advanced concepts of PL/SQL such as Analytical functions, Regular Expressions, MERGE statements, Partitioning, External Tables, Job Logging, and File creation to build batch applications. • In-depth data analysis and testing skills in Oracle PL/SQL. • Looking for someone with extensive PL/SQL programming experience with creating applications and not just SQL experience. Desired Skills • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant business discipline from an accredited four-year college or university. • Energy experience.
