Senior POS Architecture & Edge Computing Engineer (QSR) 📍 Canton, MA (Boston Support Center) | Hybrid (4 days onsite) ⏳ Contract: 8 months+ (likely extension) | Start: ASAP We’re hiring a Senior POS Engineer to help design next-generation POS hardware and edge computing architecture for a large-scale QSR environment. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused on architecture, scalability, and future readiness—not day-to-day support. What You’ll Do • Evaluate current POS hardware and deployment models • Design edge architectures enabling offline resilience and reduced OS dependency • Define workload distribution across POS, edge, and cloud • Assess systems for long-term scalability (5–10 years) including AI-ready infrastructure • Deliver architecture recommendations, diagrams, and tradeoff analysis Must-Have Experience • 5+ years in POS engineering (QSR or high-volume retail) • 3+ years in edge computing / distributed systems • Experience with POS hardware (NCR, Oracle MICROS, HP, etc.) • Knowledge of transactions, payments, peripherals, offline operations • Exposure to Oracle Simphony / RES • OS expertise: Windows LTSC, Linux, imaging & lifecycle management Nice to Have • API-first or headless POS architectures • Edge containerization (Docker/K8s) • PCI/payment isolation knowledge Regards, Ashish Lal | Talent Acquisition Manager Charter Global Inc | https://www.charterglobal.com Email: ashishl@charterglobal.com LinkedIn: ASHISH K LAL | LinkedIn One Glenlake Parkway | Suite 525 | Atlanta, GA 30328
