Role description
Our client, a leading organization in the retail technology space, is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to join their team. As a Senior Power BI Developer, you will be part of a team supporting enterprise-level analytics and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong collaboration abilities, and a keen eye for data visualization and insights, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC (3–4x per week in office)
What’s the Job?
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support visibility into key sales and inventory metrics
• Design and apply data models, source connections, and role-level security in Power Platform
• Work with Azure Data Lake and Unity Catalog tables via Databricks to ingest and transform data
• Apply DAX and Power Query to support robust, scalable analytics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights
What’s Needed?
• Advanced Power BI expertise, including data source creation and role-level security
• Strong DAX skills and ability to build compelling visualizations
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and working within Azure environments
• Knowledge of APIs (REST), PySpark, ADF, and cloud data engineering principles
• Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages (Python, Shell, R), and familiarity with tools such as Synapse, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB
