Senior Power Platform & Copilot Studio Engineer We have an immediate need for a Senior Power Platform & Copilot Studio Engineer to join our enterprise client on a remote contract. This role focuses on building enterprise-grade copilots using Microsoft Copilot Studio, integrating them with backend automation, and enforcing Power Platform governance across large-scale environments. The position is highly backend/platform-focused—not an app-building role. You will design automated governance solutions, create platform environments, build PowerShell-driven APIs, and develop copilots that interact with backend systems. Location: Remote (Eastern Business Hours) This job expects to pay about $75-82/hr (W2 only, no C2C) and benefits What You’ll Do: Copilot Studio Engineering (Primary Focus) • Design, build, and deploy enterprise copilots using Microsoft Copilot Studio. • Create Copilot actions/plugins that integrate with Power Automate, REST APIs, and backend services. • Configure copilots to interact with Dataverse, connectors, and internal systems. • Implement AI governance guardrails for Copilot usage, data access, and generative AI policies. Power Platform Environment & Governance • Create and configure user environments across the Power Platform (Dataverse, DLP, connectors). • Establish and enforce tenant-level governance, lifecycle policies, and security guardrails. • Automate environment provisioning and operational controls. Backend Automation & API Development • Build automation using PowerShell (required) for platform provisioning and governance tasks. • Wrap PowerShell scripts into RESTful APIs to integrate with internal systems (Platform McKinsey). • Support and maintain backend services that copilots call to complete actions. • Build additional automation using Python or JavaScript (no preference). What Gets You the Job: Power Platform Expertise (5+ years) • Strong experience with Power Platform administration, governance, DLP, and environments. • Platform-, backend-, or infrastructure-level Power Platform work (not app building). • Experience supporting enterprise-scale tenants. Copilot Studio / AI Agent Experience • Experience building copilots, plugins, or AI-driven automation in Microsoft Copilot Studio. • Understanding of generative AI orchestration, knowledge sources, and security considerations. • Ability to design copilots that interact with backend APIs and Power Automate. Automation & Scripting • PowerShell (required)—strong scripting and automation background. • Hands-on experience wrapping PowerShell scripts into RESTful APIs. • Python or JavaScript optionally supported. Governance & Platform Engineering • Ability to set up governance guardrails and automate compliance enforcement. • Experience with lifecycle processes, policy enforcement, and environment strategy.
