About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Principal Statistician to lead statistical strategy and execution across multiple clinical trials, from protocol development to final study reports. This is a high-impact, remote contract position ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in clinical statistics, regulatory submissions, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and review statistical sections of clinical trial protocols, including sample size calculations and study design.
• Review case report forms (CRFs), database design, and edit check specifications.
• Prepare or review Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP), TFL shells, and variable derivation specifications.
• Monitor study conduct and contribute to quality surveillance planning.
• Collaborate with Statistical Programmers and Clinical Data Managers to ensure data integrity, particularly for key efficacy and safety variables.
• Provide statistical support and validation for datasets, analyses, and tables/listings/figures (TFLs).
• Contribute to clinical study reports, publications, and regulatory documentation.
• Respond to health authority queries and perform ad-hoc analyses as required.
• Oversee and review CRO deliverables, ensuring compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional team discussions and statistical strategy meetings.
Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics with 4+ years of relevant experience, or
• M.S. in Statistics or Biostatistics with 6+ years in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry.
• Proficient in SAS programming and knowledgeable in industry standards including ICH guidelines, CDISC, and FDA requirements.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide CRO statisticians and programmers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functional teams.
• Proven ability to manage timelines and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
