Job Title: Senior Serverless Cloud Developer – Azure • • • W2 Requirement Senior Azure Functions Developer Position Description We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Azure Functions Developer to join our cloud engineering team. The successful candidate will design, develop, deploy, and maintain serverless solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role focuses on creating scalable, event-driven, and highly performant microservices using Azure Functions as part of larger cloud-native architectures. The developer must have deep technical knowledge of cloud integrations, asynchronous processing, and Azure-native services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Design and implement Azure Functions using C# (.NET 6+), Python, or JavaScript to support event-driven processing. • Integrate Azure Functions with services like Azure Event Grid, Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, SQL Database, and API Management. • Build and manage durable functions and orchestrations for complex workflows and stateful operations. • Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for serverless applications using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. • Create, publish, and monitor APIs via Azure API Management that interact with Azure Functions and downstream systems. • Apply industry-standard security practices for authentication/authorization using Azure Active Directory (AAD), OAuth2, and Managed Identity. • Utilize Application Insights and Azure Monitor for logging, tracing, performance optimization, and alerting. • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the design of resilient, scalable, and cost-optimized serverless applications. • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver enhancements in an Agile development environment. Optional Experience and Education Requirements • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing cloud-based applications, with at least 3 years specifically working with Azure Functions. • Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Deep understanding of serverless computing, event-driven architectures, and microservices patterns. • Strong programming skills in C# (.NET Core/.NET 6+), Python, or Node.js for Azure Functions development. • Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure API Management, Azure Key Vault, and Event Grid. • Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and performance tests for serverless applications. • Strong grasp of asynchronous processing, message-based architecture, and function bindings (e.g., triggers, input/output bindings). • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM templates, or terraform. • Proven ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and optimize performance in cloud environments. • Ensure compliance with enterprise cloud governance, including naming conventions, tagging, cost management, and deployment policies. • Solid understanding of security best practices, including RBAC, managed identities, and network isolation (VNET integration, private endpoints). • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a DevOps and Agile/Scrum-based environment. • Ability to mentor junior developers and conduct peer code reviews.
