Role: Senior SQL Server Developer Location: Philadelphia, PA Rate: $140,000-145,000/annual W2 Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite) | EST Business Hours Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior SQL Server Developer to take full ownership of our SQL Server environments, while bringing added value through deep expertise in YugabyteDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Couchbase. This role requires a strong foundation in SQL/PLSQL, advanced query optimization techniques, and broad knowledge of enterprise-grade, distributed, and cloud-native database platforms. Key Responsibilities:
Take end-to-end ownership of SQL Server development and database architecture.
Develop and optimize database code (SQL/PLSQL), schema design, and indexing strategies across multiple RDBMS platforms.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing database environments (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Couchbase, Yugabyte).
Ensure high availability, integrity, and performance of production and development databases.
Design and implement scalable database solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
Build and maintain ER data models and support data governance initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data best practices and standards.
Lead initiatives to improve performance tuning, query optimization, and data processing strategies.
Support and enhance Microsoft BI stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), including MDX queries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
8+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Developer.
Deep knowledge of SQL Server database design, development, and performance tuning.
Proven experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, Couchbase, and YugabyteDB in real-world environments.
Advanced SQL/PLSQL scripting skills and expertise in query optimization.
Strong understanding of XML data types and shredding techniques.
Experience with Microsoft BI tools (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) and MDX.
Proficiency with development frameworks such as .NET/C#, WCF, and ORM tools.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in enterprise-scale or distributed database environments.
Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions such as Azure SQL or distributed SQL systems like YugabyteDB.
Ability to mentor junior developers or lead database-focused project teams.
Experience in hybrid or polyglot persistence architectures.
