About The Role This is a hybrid onsite role in NYC estimated for 72 -80 hours. We’re looking for a Senior Technical Advisor to lead the charge on a high-profile modernization of complex, high-performance trading systems. You’ll dive deep into existing architecture, pinpoint performance bottlenecks, and design the path to a faster, more scalable future. You’ll be at the center of a critical transformation project—working with cutting-edge tools, collaborating with top engineering talent, and shaping the technical roadmap from day one. What You Will Be Doing • Leading technical discovery and planning to evaluate current trading system architecture and performance challenges. • Defining modernization strategies, success metrics, and implementation plans. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to prototype, validate, and deploy performance improvements. • Leveraging distributed computing techniques to optimize system performance, throughput, and reliability. • Designing solutions leveraging C#, AWS services (including Lambda/serverless), Kubernetes (K8s), and Kafka for real-time data streaming. • Advising on microservices architecture, container orchestration, and cloud-native best practices. • Reviewing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, deployment patterns, and development workflows. • Providing ongoing technical leadership and ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards. What We Want To See: • Proven experience as a senior-level technical architect, advisor, or principal engineer in a high-performance, distributed systems environment. • Strong expertise in C# application design and optimization. • Deep understanding of distributed computing architectures and real-time data processing. • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event streaming. • Experience deploying, managing, and scaling workloads in Kubernetes (K8s) environments. • Proficiency in AWS services, particularly Lambda, EC2, S3, and API Gateway. • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in mission-critical applications. • Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.
