Senior Tomcat Engineer

Role: Senior Tomcat Engineer Location: Dallas, TX - onsite Description Tomcat Engineer o Tomcat Admin / Ansible + OpenShift experience as the base. A Senior Tomcat Engineer, often titled as a Senior Systems Operations Engineer or Middleware Engineer, focuses on designing, installing, configuring, and tuning Apache Tomcat in complex, clustered production environments, typically within Linux infrastructures. They ensure high availability, security, and performance optimization (e.g., memory tuning, JVM configuration). Key Responsibilities and Skills Administration & Maintenance: Managing large-scale Apache Tomcat installations, including upgrades, patching, and configuration management (e.g., MBean attributes). Performance Tuning: Optimizing JVM performance, thread pools, and connector settings to maintain service levels. Security: Conducting vulnerability management, regular security scans, and implementing hardened configurations. Troubleshooting: Analyzing complex service level issues and identifying root causes in production environments. Infrastructure Collaboration: Working with DevOps teams to integrate Tomcat with NGINX, Apache HTTPd, or load balancers. Automation: Using scripting for deployments and routine maintenance. Role Descriptions: 6 years of experience in middleware platforms with specialization in Tomcat build and support activities.Understanding on Deployment of Tomcat applications in Redhat Openshift container platform.Flexible to work on a rotational basis Night shift coverage.Creating the DNS URLs for all the respective instancesCreating LB request for NW team for LB creation.CNAME creation for the DNS.Good understanding of Chef Json file Knowledge with Autosys jobs to setup auto reboot for both Weekly and Monthly for each servers environments.Y8 Cert creations for DB2 .Make sure all the PSE PROD servers ae in Break Glass before Go-Live.
