Job Description: The Role We are seeking a Smart Contract Engineer/Data Science Associate to join the Fidelity Digital Asset Management business and report directly to the VP, Data Science. This role will work in a small team of blockchain engineers and quant developers supporting the Research, Trading, Risk and Operations functions. The Expertise and Skills You Bring Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in financial engineering, blockchain engineering, smart contract development, or crypto infrastructure, with exposure to data-driven decision-making Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/quantitative field Experience in working with various blockchain implementations including EVM, Cosmos SDK, or Solana and the associated codebase Strong understanding of EVM/SVM architecture, token standards, and DeFi primitives. Proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining smart contracts in production environments (EVM/SVM) Experience conducting or participating in smart contract audits (as a maintainer or auditor) Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript/Python and familiarity with Web3 librariesProficiency in more two or more of the following languages: Python, Javacript, Go, Solidity, Rust, DAML Hand-on experience with tools/frameworks like OpenZepplin, Hardhat, Ganache, Mythril, Truffles and related testing libraries like Waffle and Chai Familiarity with advanced quantitative techniques and models to drive optimization, classification, inferences or forecasts Ability to work as a member of a highly responsive teams handling engineering critical issues from the day-to-day rigors of an operationally critical analytic environment Collaborative, creative and team-oriented approach to R&D, investing and technology. Ability to work across teams whose skills span blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, trading, and risk management Evidenced problem-solver across highly technical and quantitative projects within financial services The Team Fidelity Digital Asset Management [FDAM] is building an investment platform offering digital asset products and services designed to meet the growing needs of Fidelity’s retail customers and intermediary and institutional clients. The Data Science team is a highly collaborative group leading technical projects across the FDAM organization to enable effective management of investment products and services. Project examples include integration of vendor infrastructure, constructing models or tools, building automation across technologies, and portfolio or business analytics. As a hands-on team lead you will be expected to understand the function needs to both meet the expected outcome and continue to drive innovation. #cryptojobsThe base salary range for this position is $107,000-$181,000 per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
