SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Snowflake data platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting robust, scalable data architecture solutions that support advanced analytics, data warehousing, and real-time data processing initiatives across the enterprise. This is a long-term contract position, and no relocation is offered. Preference will be given to local candidates.
RESPONSIBILTIES
• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions on the Snowflake platform.
• Understand business challenges, data requirements, and current technology ecosystems to inform architectural decisions.
• Develop and enforce data architecture best practices, including data modeling, ELT/ETL pipelines, and data governance.
• Understand the concepts of data marts and their usage across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with Snowflake.
• Optimize Snowflake solutions for cost efficiency, performance, and reliability.
• Lead technical engagements, collaborating with internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Guide data engineers, analysts, and developers in implementing best practices on Snowflake.
• Establish and enforce governance, security, and compliance standards within Snowflake environments.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to integrate Snowflake with SIEM solutions for real-time monitoring, alerting, and compliance reporting.
• Design data pipelines that securely ingest security logs and audit data from Snowflake into centralized SIEM platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering roles.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data solutions across industries.
• Deep understanding of modern data architecture principles, including cloud platforms like AWS.
• Expert knowledge of Snowflake architecture, including data sharing, performance optimization, and data security.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, schema design, and ELT pipeline development.
• Understanding of cloud-native services for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration (e.g., AWS services).
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A self-starter with a growth mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with diverse teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience working in consulting or client-facing roles, particularly with Data & Analytics or enterprise customers.
• Experience integrating Snowflake with BI/Visualization platforms like Tableau, Business Objects, or Crystal Reports.
• Experience integrating Snowflake with SIEM platforms, such as AWS SIEM.
• Experience in designing high-performance data extraction processes using Teradata to Snowflake.
• Experience leveraging Amazon S3 as an intermediate staging layer for seamless data transfer and scalability.
